WHAT IS EYML

European Young Museologists Link (EYML) is a space dedicated to the training and development of young professionals, aiming to generate a positive impact in the museum sector. It emerges as a response to the structural precariousness affecting museums and the need to drive change from various perspectives. Its purpose is to create a meeting point that strengthens the role of young people in museology and in today’s society.

Our community is open to everyone interested and is designed to reflect the diversity of perspectives and levels of commitment of its members, ensuring inclusive and effective participation within the museum sector.

EYML advocates for a museology that places museums at the heart of society and public debate, overcoming their traditional institutional isolation. We believe that museums should take on an active role as agents of social transformation, promoting dialogue, inclusion, and citizen participation.

OUR VISION

EYML operates based on principles of cooperation, commitment, inclusivity, creativity, and excellence. We champion diversity as the foundation of a more representative museology and align our work with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), promoting education, accessibility, sustainability, and digitalization in the museum sector.

OUR VALUES

EYML aims to be the leading platform for the next generation of museum professionals in Europe. We believe in an innovative, interdisciplinary, and socially engaged museology, where museums serve as spaces for dialogue, reflection, and transformation. We seek to strengthen European cultural integration through shared heritage, fostering intercultural dialogue and institutional cooperation.
